Georgia and the Western Caucasus

The country of Georgia is located at the eastern shore of the Black Sea south of the Caucasus mountain range. The coastal region is characterized by a warm and humid climate allowing growth of vine, citrus fruits and tea while the Caucasus mountains in the north crossing this view from right to foreground left reach more than 5000m altitude and are covered with glaciers. In the background the Turkish Black Sea coast can be seen as well as the northeast Anatolian plateau.
