Karpathos and Rhodes

Karpathos and Rhodes are the two largest islands of the Dodecanese at the southeastern edge of the Aegean Sea. Both islands are mountainous with the highest peaks over 1200m. Karpathos, in the foreground of this view is about half way between Crete and Rhodes which can be seen behind. The much larger Island of Rhodes is only 18km from the coast of Turkey which can be seen in the background.
