Some readers have already been waiting for this – i have now completed my initial review of the ArcticDEM elevation data set which is being produced and published in several stages during this year by the University of Minnesota and the US NGA.
As frequently with elevation data sources the impression you might get from what is being advertised about the data might lead to disappointment if you look into practically using the files but still this is an interesting and valuable source of data. For finding out about the chances and limitations of the data and what problems you might encounter using it read the full review.
I will more specifically cover a practical use case for the ArcticDEM data in the next post.
