Winter images

I have not shown a lot of satellite images recently – for those who start missing them here a few winter impressions from the northern hemisphere from January and February this year.

The first one is an early morning image from the Westfjords of northwestern Iceland just after sunrise – recorded by Landsat 8 in January

Next is a Sentinel-2 image from southern Iran showing the snow covered Zagros Mountains and the green valleys and plains of Khuzestan and a dust storm obscuring the western side at the border to Iraq.

The third is a Landsat mosaic based on recent images from end of Feburary showing the eastern part of the Kamchatka Peninsula where three volcanoes (Shiveluch, Klyuchevskaya Sopka and Karymsky) these days show simultaneous activities.

Here three magnified crops from this.
