The Deosai Plains

The Deosai Plains southeast of the Nanga Parbat (8125m) which can be seen in the background is a high plateau in northern Pakistan with an average altitude of more than 4000m located between the upper Indus River in the north and the Kashmir Valley in the south.

It is one of the most beautiful, adventurous and wonderful place for those who love nature. Spending a couple of nights at the camp side near the hanging bridge adds thrill and excitement. After making three attempts we were able to reach the largest, widest and highest plains on earth. Love it.

Having traveled in various parts of Northern Pakistan, I have to say that the sheer beauty of Deosai is definitely unmatched. It simply cannot be explained in words & you have to be "there" .. traveling through this vast plains at 4000m in the middle of high mountains is an experience of a lifetime. Just make sure that you travel during June-July and can overlook the crappy road.
